MyBase -Trading List

The MyBase Trading List is the list of books you are offering to trade with other sf-books members.


Add Book:

Add a book to your trading list
Book Title:

shows the details of the book
Visibility Status:

Change the visibility of each book to visible or hidden. Hidden books will not display on other members searches. Use this feature if you are not ready to trade a book you have listed.
Delete:

remove the book from your trading list permanently.
Change Status:

change your member status from active to suspended or vice versa. Use this feature to remove yourself from the trading process if you will not be able to participate in trades when notified. (e.g. when you’re on holidays).
Logout: logout at the end of each session with sf-books.com for your own security.

MyBase - Add Book
To add a book to your wanted or trading list start by searching for the author and see if the details are already contained in the sf-books database.

SF-Books automated search function makes this very easy. Simply start typing the authors surname in the Last Name field. A search automatically starts as soon as a letter is entered. Type more letters to narrow the search.

If your author details appear in the results list, simply select the author.

If there is no match, simply enter the details as necessary.

MyBase - Trades in Progress
Requester:

This is the username of the sf-books member who has requested a book from you. Click on the username to see the members trade history.
Action - Send: Use this option to agree to send the book to the requesting member.
Action - Decline:

In rare cases, after checking the members trade rating, you may decide not to send the book to the requesting member. Use this option to decline a request.

MyBase - Book Profile
Book Profile provides an overview of the book details; author, title and synopsis. The Copies Available section displays any copies that ar currently availalble for trade.
Member: Displays the members with this book title listed for trade. Click on a members username for information about a member.
Request Copy: Click Request Copy to begin the trading process.

Relogin
To access the trading area of sf-books, you must be a member, and be logged in. Please use the login panel at the top left of the page, to login into sf-books.com.

Please fill out each field in the registration form. Fields marked with an asterisks are optional.
Genre Guide
When listing books there are several genres to choose from. These help members to find the books they want when browsing. As there is a certain ammount of genre crossover, use this guide to help you select a genre.
Fantasy Classic sword & sorcery stuff. Usualy, if it contains magic, it'll go in this genre.
Sci Fi: General General Science Fiction. If there is no other appropriate genre, put it here.
Horror Ghosts. Vampires. Warewolves. Serial Killers. Demons. Possession. Also most Thrillers can go in this genre.
Historical Basically Fantasy without the fantasy. Anything set a long time ago, whether based on fact or alternate history, can go in this genre.
Cyberpunk High tech, grungy, bionic, human-conmputer interfaces & upgrades
Novelisation Books based on movies.
TV Tie-in Books based on TV Shows where there is no dedicated genre. Could be based on actual episodes or non-existant episodes.
Multi-Author Usually a series with more than one writer.
Genre Not Set It's all too hard. I can't work it out.
Doctor Who: BBC Books based on the Doctor Who TV show, published by the BBC. This series of books is the latest to be published, and the only Doctor Who series still in print. The books are not based on actual episodes, but new stories and 'in-between' stories. You can tell it's a BBC book by looking at the spine.
Doctor Who: Virgin Books based on Doctor Who published by Virgin. This series includes the New Adventures, and the Missing Adventures. Theses books are no longer being published and are slightly older than the BBC books.
Doctor Who: Target The original (very thin) Doctor Who books, published by Target. Theses books are long out of print and can be quite old. They are based on the actual Doctor Who tv episodes.
Star Trek: DS9 Books based on the Star Trek: Deep Space 9 series.
Star Trek: TOS Books based on the original ('60s) Star Trek tv series.
Star Trek: NG Books based on Star Trek: The Next Gegeration tv show & movies.
Sci Fi: Time Travel Sub-Genre of science fiction. anything to do with trvelling through time.
Sci Fi: Alien Invasion Sci fi sub genre. Any sort of war with aliens.
Sci Fi: Space Opera Big, bold, brassy Sci Fi books. An epic in space.
Sci Fi: AI Artificial Intelligence.
Hardware Guns Guns Guns! High Tech warfare or gadgets. Could be set in modern era.
